New AMI supports Nitro-type instances

Postby jsun » Thu Sep 17, 2020 4:00 pm

After a long and stable running, we are happy to announce an update for the Vyatta AMI product. The primary change is to support the Nitro-based EC2 instances (e.g., t3, m5, etc).

There are also a few minor changes along the way. See complete release note below:
  • Add ENA network support for nitro type of instance types (T3, M5, etc)
  • Updated nvme.ko to kernel v3.10.108
  • Rename root device with UUID style (kernel cmdline, /etc/fstab)
  • Disable ssh password in config files instead of run-time initd script.
  • Apply patch to ntpd to fix CVE-2015-7871
  • Rename host back from "vyatta-64bit" to "vyatta"
  • Update NTP server to {0-2}.us.pool.ntp.org and time{1-3}.google.com
