How to make a VoIP call in one minute?

With the following a few simple steps, you can make an VoIP call in one minute.

• Launch FreeSWITCH EC2 instance. Wait until it is fully running and ready. Note its public IP address and instance ID.
• On your desktop or mobile phone, launch a softphone app (e.g., X-lite or Linphone) or SIP dialer.
• Configure the apps. Take X-Lite for example:
  
  • Click "Softphone"/"Account settings"
  • Select an extension number between 1000 to 1019 as "User ID"
  • Enter the EC2 instance public IP address as "Domain"
  • Enter the EC2 instance ID as "Password"
  • Enter anything you wish as "Display name"
  • Enter the same extension number for "User ID" as "Authorization name"
• Repeat the process for the second client.

Now you are ready to call each other through the extension number!

Below is the setting for Linphone Android app to work with freeswitch AMI. The desktop app settings are similar

• Username: choose one of the default extensions from 1000 to 1019
• Auth userid : same as Username above
• Password : default is the instance-id of the Freeswitch AWS instance id
• Domain : the public IP address of the Freeswitch server
• Display name : leave it empty or choose anything you like
