Reset VNC password - forgot password

I forgot my vnc password I was wondering how I can reset / change the password if I am unable to log into the vnc?
I am able to ssh into the ec2 instance.

I tried the first option in the following thread, to no avail. Using version: 16.04lts-161214-170114

Hi,

The original method should still work, i.e., /usr/bin/vncpasswd -f > /opt/netspectrum/aws/ubuntu-desktop/passwd. Give it a try.

In any case you can invoke the setup script as follows from a SSH session.

/opt/netspectrum/aws/ubuntu-desktop/bin/configure-ami.sh
